Research Activities

My research areas

My research focuses essentially on knowledge. It aims at contributing to the understanding and development of efficient strategies to improve the production, management, appropriation and diffusion of knowledge within and between firms, industries or countries. The focus is either on strategic management (how knowledge and knowledge processes can contribute to firm performance) or on the economics of knowledge and innovation (how S&T and IP policies foster the production and diffusion of knowledge and contribute to economic growth).

As part of this research agenda, I am also working on data mining and machine learning technologies that can help in the discovery and management of knowledge, more specifically by applying them to patent data (patent mining).

Covered areas include:

  • Strategic Management
    • Micro foundations of strategy
    • Resource-based view and knowledge-based view
